We can see snow capped mountains from town. The new guide Dolkin says they get snow every day in the winter. Urumqi is a melting pot of people. The guide was of Turkish decent, a Uygur. Pronounced "Weegurr". Our hotel the Hoi Tak, Xinjiang is called 5 star but it is closer to a 3. It does have a four lane bowling alley with restaurants and bars. We spent some time in our room and took a walk downtown. The different peoples of this area made the walk interesting. They are famous for their fruits and nuts. We saw several vendors. We ate at the hotel. Cyd, by chance, met one of the hotel managers and he gave us a tour of the activity spots of the hotel.
