Shriner Peak Lookout

The trail is located on the Eastern side of Mt Rainier National Park. It was a slightly overcast Sunday morning . There was only one other vehicle at the trail head. When I rounded the crest at about the 3 mile mark I saw 3 elk. The two hikers in front of me had just seen a bear walk into the trees. Mt. Rainier only peaked out of the clouds a few times. The wind was cold and I needed my sweat shirt at the lookout. A park ranger passed me on his way up to the lookout. I met two friendly chipmunks and a friendly grouse on the way out.
