2006 - Appleton Pass

Dad did his first long overnight hiking trip in about 27 years with Don and Cindy Crane. The trail was in Olympic National Park, from the Olympic Hot Springs near Port Angeles. Our goal was to find Herb Crisler's shelter, Hot Cake Camp. We reached Spread Eagle Pass and attempted the 700' descent. Unfortunatley we turned back just 100' above the shelter because we were loosing day light. The trip was gruelingly wonderful. Gaining 3175' in 7.7 miles.
