Family Sunset

La Jolla, California - 2011

October 13th, 2011 - Thursday

Ross was back home for the firt time since leaving for California in February. He and Randy dropped us at the Light Rail terminal in Tukwila. We met the rest of the party at baggage check in. At security I was detained because of the battery and wires in my white hat with the lights. They checked the manufacturer's web site to varify the lights and wires should be there and they distributed a photo of the hat's xray throught the airport. We reached the gate as the plane was finishing boarding. Leslie and Marv Nelson are on the flight too.

Stopped at FedEx. They can't ship the wine. We were told about having apple pie in Julian and house looking in Rancho Santa Fe. We headed east towards Mt. Palomar and the big 200 Inch telescope. The scope was at 6000ft and the temperature reached into the 80's. We had apple pie in Julian and made it back for the photo unvailing at the Mangelsen Gallery.

October 20th, 2011 - Thursday

Found a shipper to mail the wine back to Washington this morning. Drove out to the Windsail Port and Rancho Sante Fe. No one was sailing and the expensive homes were mostly hidden. We lunched at Wahoo's just up the street from the rental house. Very good tacos. Walked downtown La Jolla during the Art and Wine walk. Discovered the Peter Lik photo gallery. Made popcorn in the hotel's garage microwave.
